Ram Charan’s recent visit to Kadapa Dargah, while observing Ayyappa Mala, has sparked heated controversy.

Reportedly, AR Rahman invited Charan to the Dargah long ago, and Charan kept his promise.
However, this visit has upset some Ayyappa devotees, who claim it goes against the spiritual discipline associated with the Mala.

Telangana Ayyappa JAC has demanded a public apology from Charan and questioned Rahman’s evil intentions. They asked if Rahman would also accompany Charan to Tirupati or Sabarimala.
The Ayyappa JAC has given him a few days to clarify his stance, threatening to escalate protests if no response is made.

Fans and others argue that Charan’s actions were not meant to offend religious sentiments or harm Sanatana Dharma.
Fans defend his history of devotion and also point out that his father Chiranjeevi and uncle Pawan Kalyan as devout practitioners of Sanatana Dharma. They claimed that Charan fulfilled a prior commitment without ill intent.
A response from Charan is awaited but he may choose to remain silent.
His wife, Upasana Konidela, has also defended him, posting on social media that respecting all faiths strengthens unity.
