    KEY HIGHLIGHTS

    • R Ashwin played a key role in Team India’s win in the 2nd Test against Bangladesh
    • The star all-rounder remained unbeaten on 42
    • Ashwin added 71 runs with Shreyas Iyer
R Ashwin once again showed that he is a proper all-rounder in Test cricket and played a vital knock of unbeaten 42 in the 2nd Test match against Bangladesh as India chased down the target of 145 to clinch the series 2-0. Ashwin took the pressure off Shreyas Iyer and hit the winning boundary to propel India past the winning total.

After the end of the match, Ashwin posted a pic on Twitter and called the win a memorable one. A user tried to troll Ashwin by saying that he should have handed the trophy to Mominul Haq. The former Bangladesh captain dropped Ashwin for a score of 1.

“You should have handed this to Mominul Haque, Who dropped that dolly.. had he bagged it, India all out for 89 for sure.. @ashwinravi99,” the user wrote. Ashwin hit back at the troll in an epic fashion and won the internet with his reply.

“Oh no ! I thought I blocked you, oh sorry that’s the other guy. what’s his name?? Yes Daniel Alexander that’s the name !! Imagine what you both would do if India dint play cricket,” wrote Ashwin. His response has been a hit on social media and is going viral.

Ashwin added a match-winning 71-run partnership with Shreyas Iyer for the 8th wicket. Chasing a target of 145, India lost the early wickets of KL Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara and Shubman Gill. Much was expected from Virat Kohli but he departed for 1.

India lost 3 early wickets on day 4 and were reeling at 74/7 at one stage. Ashwin and Iyer joined hands and steered the team past the winning total. Iyer scored 29 off 46 while Ashwin hit 42 off 62.

He upped the ante as India came close to the target and hit back-to-back boundaries to complete the chase. India lost the ODI series 1-2 but continued their domination against Bangladesh in the longest format. India have never lost to Bangladesh in Test cricket.
