After the pandemic it took the film industries quite some time to bounce back to its normal pace and even though 2022 did not perform very well, 2023 was an astounding year.
Many blockbusters like Pathaan and Jawan were released in 2023 and the overall collection for all industries combined went around 12, 226 crores. But the 2024 collections have gone down a bit and the overall collections are now 11,833 crores.

The number is significantly bigger than 2022’s collection of 10,637 crores. But the reduction of box office collections this year hints at the possibility of not having movies that have attracted the audiences enough.
There have been superhit movies like ‘Stree 2’, ‘Pushpa 2’, ‘Bhool Bhulaiya 3’. The number of standalone movies doing good was very few. However, the ticket prices have growed all along. The Average Ticket Price in 2022 was 119 and 130 in 2023. And it became 134 in 2024.

Still the collections not being more than last year is a bit concerning for producers and filmmakers in almost all the industries alike.
The Telugu, Malayalam, Gujarati and Bengali industries had better performance in 2024 than in 2023 and the Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Punjabi, Marathi industries performed worse than last year.

With some big titles lined up for 2025 from almost all the industries, this will probably be a bigger year for the film fraternity.
