Two days after the stampede during the premier show of Pushpa-2 at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad that resulted in the death of a woman and hospitalisation of her 8-year-old son, actor Allu Arjun took to his social media handles to express condolences and his support to the bereaved family.

He promised to give ₹25 lakh to the family as a ‘goodwill gesture’ and offered to cover all the medical expenses to ensure the injured members receive the best possible care.

In a video message, the actor said, “When we attended the premiere of Pushpa-2 at RTC Crossroads, we never imagined that we would hear such heartbreaking news the following day. It was deeply upsetting to learn that a family was injured, and a woman named Revathi lost her life due to her injuries. Going to the movies is a cherished experience for all of us, but this incident has left us all devastated.”

The actor urged fans to be cautious while watching movies, saying, “Our aim is to provide good entertainment for families to enjoy together. Please be careful and make sure you return home safely after enjoying the film.”

In his message on X (formerly Twitter), he wrote, “I am deeply heartbroken by the tragic incident at Sandhya Theatre. My sincerest condolences go out to the grieving family during this unimaginably difficult time. I want to assure them that they are not alone in their pain, and I will meet with the family personally. While respecting their need for privacy as they grieve, I am committed to providing all possible support to help them through this challenging period.”

Child continues to remain in critical state

Meanwhile, KIMS Secunderabad, where the boy is undergoing treatment, released a second statement on Friday (December 6, 2024) in which they said that he continues to remain critical.

“The child presented with low oxygen saturation and irregular breathing requiring immediate intubation and ventilation. MRI brain of the child was showing changes of perinatal insult, with no new hypoxic changes with CT chest showing changes related to aspiration,” the statement read.

The hospital informed that the child is on a mechanical ventilator requiring minimal settings and minimal ionotropic support, neurologically improving with no clinical seizures. The child has persistent fever spikes necessitating higher antibiotics. The child has been started on NG feeds which he is tolerating well with adequate urine output showing some glimpse of hope. However, the condition remains critical, and the patient is under intensive care and close monitoring as the medical team works to stabilise him further,” the statement added.
