Owing to the impressive performance in its theatrical run with earnings of Rs.835.37 crore and a profit of Rs.635.37 crore (according to trade reports), Pushpa 2 Hindi will now be looking to break many established records in the OTT realm, some really easy, others a bit harder.
One of the first records it would be looking to break is that of the ‘Most viewed South Indian Film in the Debut Week’, a title currently held by Dulquer Salmaan’s ‘Lucky Baskhar’ with 5.1 million views.

The other title is that of ‘The Most Viewed Indian Film in the Debut Week’, held by Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’ with 6.9 million views in its pockets.
The last record for Pushpa 2 to break in the Netflix realm would be that of ‘The Most Viewed Indian Film of 2024’. This one will be the toughest of all and will require some exceptionally brilliant performance on Pushpa 2’s part.

That’s because this title is currently held by Vijay Sethupathi’s ‘Maharaja’, garnering a massive viewership worth 19.7 million views on Netflix in 2024.
Although the last target does seem difficult to break, it is also true that if any film bears the calibre to do it by a long shot, it is definitely Pushpa 2.
With Bollywood still in shambles and no other film currently coming close, it will be interesting to see whether Pushpa 2 is able to grab the trinity of crowns from the current rulers, cementing its position in the Wild West of OTT.
