Director Puri Jagannadh has been going through a rough patch in his career. His last two films, Liger and Double Ismart, turned out to be huge disasters.
Among them, Liger was especially damaging, as distributors who suffered major losses even approached the Film Chamber demanding compensation.

Some even protested publicly, pulling Puri into several controversies. To make matters worse, the film Jana Gana Mana with Vijay Deverakonda was shelved right after its launch due to the negative fallout from Liger.
After that, Puri found it difficult to get top heroes on board for his next projects. There were rumors that he might collaborate with actors like Nagarjuna or Gopichand, but those plans didn’t materialize as they got busy with other commitments.

However, Puri seems to have bounced back with a surprising move—he has reportedly teamed up with Vijay Sethupathi, who is currently riding high on the success of his recent film Maharaja.
That film collected nearly 200 crores in worldwide gross and performed well even in the Telugu states. Given Vijay Sethupathi’s strong reputation for picking meaningful stories, this collaboration could be the comeback Puri needs.

Adding to the excitement, the film’s team released a photo confirming that senior actress Tabu has officially joined the project in a key role.
