Canada has recently put various restraints on immigrants leading to many visas getting canceled and people getting deported from the country. As Indians contribute to the major immigrant population in Canada, they face the brunt of these new curbs.
Indians studying in Canada have now come out to voice their displeasure with the new immigration policy which threatens their future.

According to the new ruling, Indian students will have a hard time getting work permits. It also makes it more difficult for migrant students to apply for permanent residency in the country.
Canada is currently facing an overpopulation crisis and the data suggest it is mostly due to immigration. This has strained public sectors like healthcare and housing which led to these sudden policy changes by PM Justin Trudeau.

However, many students take loans to go study abroad and get a job there. Thus, if they get deported back to India immediately after graduation it would leave them with severe debt.
This is why the Indian students are demanding an assurance for those who are already studying in the country to be exempted from this policy. They want the government to create avenues for permanent residency and address other major issues.
