Peddi first shot: Ram Charan gets ready to hit it out of the park in this raw, rustic entertainer | Telugu News

Brushing off the disappointment of mixed responses to his latest film Game Changer, directed by Shankar, Ram Charan is gearing up for his next project. Titled Peddi, the movie marks his maiden association with Uppena director Buchi Babu Sana. On the occasion of Rama Navmi, the makers released a one-minute glimpse into the world of Peddi, and officially announced that the film would hit the screens on March 27, 2026.

In the video, we see a bearded Ram Charan, who comes across as a local youngster who wants to make the most of his life. We see snippets of the dusty world, Ram Charan leaping over tractors and fields, and finally wielding a cricket bat like a weapon as he smashes the ball to the skies. Is this a cricket film? Is this just a scene from the film? Or is it just a glimpse into something completely different? Well, we’d know more next year when Peddi hits the screens.

The look and distinct dialect of the film might remind us of Ram Charan’s own Rangasthalam or Allu Arjun’s Pushpa, but in the hands of a filmmaker like Buchi Babu, it would be interesting to see how Ram Charan fills in the shoes of a raw and rustic character. The movie, backed by Venkata Satish Kilaru and presented by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, has music by AR Rahman. This is the first time the composer is working with the filmmaker and Ram Charan.

Peddi marks Jahnvi Kapoor’s second Telugu film after Jr NTR’s Devara: Part 1, and it also features Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar, and Jagapathi Babu in pivotal roles. The movie also marks the Telugu debut of the talented Divyenndu, known for his roles in Pyaar Ka Punchnama and Mirzapur.
