The Cincinnati Bengals have banned media from filming their players crossing a street to get to the team’s practice facility after the unusual setup was brutally mocked by fans online.

In a clip which has gone viral on social media, Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase is seen making an unglamorous journey in to practice after walking across a city street to get to the facility.

NFL fans were quick to rip into Cincinnati for not providing their players with a more professional entrance, which has led to the team banning any pictures or videos from being taken on the practice field side of the street.

ESPN host and former Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee was one of many who saw the funny side of Bengals players being made to cross the street every day to get in to practice.

And after hearing that media had been banned from filming them doing so, McAfee was left in disbelief.

He shared a clip of himself discussing the situation on his ESPN show and wrote on X: ‘The Bengals media isn’t allowed to film the players walking across the street anymore,’ along with laughing emojis.

McAfee then added: ‘WHAT IS GOING ON IN CINCINNATI’.

On his show, McAfee admitted that he could be at fault for the Bengals banning any videos or photos after laughing at the video of Chase.

‘This is potentially our fault,’ he added. ‘And we would like to let everybody know, we thought it was cool! We thought it was a novel thing. We thought it was old school.’

McAfee went on to list other examples of the Bengals being made to look like they ‘don’t care’ about its players or fans; including the fact they only built an indoor facility last season and selling televisions out of their parking lot for $60 this summer.

‘We’re high on the Cincinnati Bengals, but we do have to talk about all these things that are very abnormal to the rest of a professional sports league that’s worth billions,’ he continued.

‘And Bengals fans get upset about that, I think we’re just trying to make it better.’
