Park Seo Joon’s recent act of kindness is winning the internet. The Itaewon Class star took to his social media to share a handwritten note from the family of a young patient who had just undergone brain tumour surgery —all made possible thanks to Park’s quiet donation that helped fund the life-saving procedure. While posting the screenshot of the letter, the actor also wrote a caption promising to meet his young fan once he’s fully recovered, sharing, “I’m once again determined to live my life diligently. I hope we meet after you have recovered and are in good health.”

In the handwritten note, the family shared their harrowing experience with the deadly disease that nearly claimed their child’s life. The child was diagnosed in January 2024. The family said they were devastated, mentally and financially drained, and had no idea how they would manage to afford the treatment. In the letter, the parent wrote, “We thought only our family was cursed. We were in deep despair.” But for them, the actor’s sudden donation came as a ray of hope. It helped cover the cost of a hematopoietic stem cell transplant, a crucial surgery needed to operate further. “After successfully completing the first transplant, hope has begun to return. We now believe that our child, who has already grown stronger, will endure the journey ahead.”

The parent also said the child is now growing stronger and is getting ready for more treatment. “We are still waiting for other treatments, but I believe that my child, who has grown a little more in the meantime, will endure it well,” the letter continued. The family also shared how they told their child about Park Seo Joon’s donation, and for the first time in a long while, they smiled again together. The child, deeply moved by what Park had done, said they now want to become famous too, not for the fame, but just so they can meet Park one day and thank him in person.
Alongside the letter and the caption, the Gyeongseong creature star also shared a letter from Seoul Samsung Hospital, which confirmed that his donation directly funded the surgery. The hospital staff wrote in response, “You are like spring itself — giving someone the courage to stand up again and hope to live on.”

On the work front, Park Seo Joon will soon be headlining JTBC’s new rom-com, titled Waiting for Gyeong-do. This will mark his much-awaited comeback in the genre, where he will slip into the shoes of a journalist juggling love and second chances. The story will revolve around two former lovers, Lee Gyeong-do and Seo Ji Woo, who first met in their twenties, fell in love, and went their separate ways, until destiny brings them back together years later. The drama is being directed by Im Hyun Wook. Squid Game 2 fame Won Ji An has been offered the role of the female lead in Waiting for Gyeong Do.
