Paris 2024 Olympics LIVE: Imane Khelif is back in action following controversial win over Angela Carini and Dina Asher-Smith is in 100m final action on day eight
Adam Peaty will be back in the pool this morning, Swim England have confirmed.
He’ll be part of the men’s 4 x 100m medley relay heats after testing positive for Covid-19 earlier in the week and missing the mixed 4 x 100m medley relay heats.
You can watch him from 11.40am.

Jubilant medal ceremony for women’s eight
It’s been a brilliant Olympics at the rowing for Team GB – three golds, two silvers, and three bronzes. Our best-ever haul in a foreign Games.
Credit to Romania for holding off the competition. Besdies their cox, all of their crew had already raced this week but been denied a gold. They’ve earned their moment in the sun.
Men’s eight react to gold medal – The Americans were giving it big on the start line but we had their number
Jacob Dawson: ‘Massive mix of emotions. A bit of sadness that this is the end but complete and total elation that we’ve capped off this project in the right way.’
Charlie Elwes: ‘Ninety-nine-point-nine per cent of it was perfect, we had a bit of a daft stroke on stroke one and that really scared us, but I think that fired us up to 120 per cent and we nailed it.’
Harry Brightmore: ‘It was a he** of a ride at the back end of the boat. The American guys were giving it a lot of shouting on the starting line which we were ready for. We knew exactly what they were going to do. We just
executed it perfectly, a bit of a sprint to the death and we took it by the scruff of the neck. These guys, really proud of them.’
Anna Hopkin through to semis in womens 50m freestyle
Safe progression through the heats for Anna Hopkin. The former Olympic mixed 4x100m medley relay champion is back in the water this evening.
She came joint-fourth in her heat with a time of 24.72 seconds and qualified joint-15th fastest overall.
Team GB fall to 3-0 defeat in hockey
Unlucky to the women’s hockey team who have fallen 3-0 to Argentina ahead of their quarter-final progression.
Sarah Robertson today earned her 100th cap for Team GB while Tess Howard made her combined 100th outing for GB and England.
Britain go top in early throes of dressage
An ideal start for Great Britain as Becky Moody atop Jagerbomb goes top in the first round with just Denmark and Germany left to run before the next two stages.
With a score of 76.489 per cent, it’s a commanding lead over the Netherlands and Belgium and one spectator has called it the best test ever done by the pair.

Jubilant and exhausted scenes for the men’s eight
Cox Harry Brightmore can hardly believe his eyes. His smile at the end there was so heart-warming.
This crew has faced heartbreak in recent years, both on the water and in their personal lives, and this is a fantastic way to show the world they can rise above any challenge.
They’re looking a bit enervated after all of that. It wasn’t just 5mins and 22 seconds of their time – it was years in the making.
Team GB men’s eight win GOLD and dispel demons from Tokyo
The demons from Tokyo are banished and Great Britain’s men’s eight crew are Olympics champions!
After the mixed emotions of third place three years ago when they had set their sights higher, they finally have that coveted gold.
An absolutely astounding row. The Dutch threw everything at Team GB in the final 200 metres, ascending to 44 strokes per minute, but it was a relentless showing from us and we go on the top step of the podium.
Netherlands second, USA third.
Men’s rowing eight lead early stages
The back-to-back world champions just have their necks in front ahead of the Dutch after around 700 metres.
Great Britain thrilled with bronze
I said they were looking slightly morose after the race, but if they were, that initial reaction has dissipated as the reality has dawned on them – they’re Olympic medalists. A lifetime of chilling winter mornings vindicated.
You could see the joy emanating from them in their post-race interview.
Holly Dunford: ‘It was incredible. We left everything out there and can be really proud of what we’ve just done.’
Eve Stewart: ‘I’m just so thrilled to be standing here. I don’t really have any other words than that!’
Emily Ford: ‘The whole way we trusted one another and the process. We’ve learned to have belief in ourselves and we did. This medal is for past, present, family, support network, anyone that plays the National Lottery.’
Watch: How Team GB oared their way to bronze
Team GB chasing deficit in hockey
Not what our women’s team would have wanted – conceding twice in quick succession in the third quarter.
Raposo Ruiz and Albertarrio have drawn first blood and Team GB need a quick turnaround.
If they lose, they’ll still be through, but the draw won’t be as preferable.
Men’s road race getting underway
We’ve got Thomas Pidcock, Josh Tarling, Stephen Williams, and Fred Wright in action on the road today.
Anything can happen – just ask Pidcock. A puncture and 40 seconds down in the cross-country? No worries. He came back to secure glory then and he’ll be hoping for another gold now.
Bronze for Team GB’s women’s eight on the water
And that’s our first medal of the day – but the crew are looking disconsolate. It was a battling run but they were aiming for gold.
Great Britain secure bronze in the women’s eight, finishing behind Romania and Canada.
Romania have been sensational in the rowing at this Olympics and after the first few hundred metres their win never felt in doubt.
Strong start for women’s eight
Team GB are in a good position to pick off the Canadians and Romanians, sitting thid after the first 800 metres in the women’s eight final.
They need to make up a bit of ground fast, though.
British prodigy knocked out of women’s archery
Commiserations to 16-year-old Megs Havers, who has been knocked out of the last 16 of the women’s individual archery 7-1 by Lim Si-hyeon.
She was the first archer to take a set off the South Korean this Olympics and can hold her head up high.
Heidi Long: My late father is my inspiration
Heidi Long has revealed that her father, who passed away last year, attended all of her races in an emotional tribute with BBC Sport.
The rower said: ‘He sadly passed away last with from a battle with cancer but he booked the accommodation for the Olympics before I knew or was going or which boat had qualified.
‘He would always go about with a smile on his face and go about everything with as much vigour as he could. He’s my inspiration.’
Andy Murray gets behind women’s hockey team
Nice to see Andy Murray out and about this morning in Paris – draped in a British flag with a team kit on.
He’s positioned himself at the Yves du Manoir Stadium, where Team GB’s women’s hockey squad are currently locked in battle with Argentina.
It’s the second quarter, it’s 0-0, and they’re already through. But this is no dead rubber.
Your placemrnt in the group will dictate your quarter-final opponents and everyone will be desperate to avoid the Netherlands.
Coming up: rowing eights final
We could be two medals richer inside the next hour.
The women’s eight are up at 9.50am while the men’s crew are in their final at 10.10am.
It’s been a fantastic Olympics for Team GB rowing, with two golds, two silvers, and two bronzes under our belt already. Can we go a step further?
Who are the chief entertainers in action today for Great Britain?
There’s plenty to look out for, but here are some of the highlight names coming up:
