Kriti Sanon and Kajol’s Do Patti is scheduled to arrive on Netflix on October 25, 2024. Expectations are sky-high considering that it is the former’s debut as a producer.

With only a day left for release, the film has already created headlines for one of its tracks, Akhiyaan De Khol. The single has received heavy criticism from popular personalities considering that it is a remake of a Pakistani folk song, originally sung by the late singer Reshma.

Meanwhile, Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui has also stepped into the matter as he posted a tweet on October 21. The post included a shot of Kriti from the song alongside a short statement.

Siddiqui’s post stated that imitation might work out sometimes but it is not acceptable when someone is “tearing apart a classic by a legend.”

A section of the public also supported the song, saying that despite being remade, the new version was up to the mark. One of the users stated that the original was bad compared to the remix.

Notably, the ongoing issue should not create any issues for the film since it is arriving directly on OTT. However, it remains to be seen if the content leads to any kind of controversy.

Apart from Kriti Sanon, Do Patti also features Kajol in the lead alongside Shaheer Sheikh, Tanvi Azmi, Brijendra Kala, Vivek Mushran, and Prachee Shah Paandya.
