Netflix is one of the biggest streaming OTT platforms across the world. This year, Netflix has acquired only 5 notable movies from Kollywood, but for the next year, now itself Netflix almost bagged the most hyped movies from Kollywood.

This year Netflix has acquired Vijay’s The Greatest Of All Time, Vijay Sethupathi’s Maharaja, Karthi’s Meiyazhagan, Sivakarthikeyan’s Amaran, and Kamal Haasan’s Indian-2.
Among these five, Maharaja was a blockbuster success in OTT and has brought more watch hours to the OTT platform than expected, and Amaran is yet to be released.

Whereas for the next year, Netflix now itself has bagged 4 biggies of Kollywood, such as Suriya’s anticipated Suriya 44, directed by Karthik Subbaraj, Kamal Haasan and Silambarasan TR’s Thug Life, Pradeep Ranganathan’s Dragon, and Ajith Kumar’s Good Bad Ugly.
This year Netflix almost bagged most of the biggest movies of Tollywood, which includes Prabhas’s Kalki 2898 AD and NTR’s Devara. But next year Netflix is bagging more big Kollywood movies than big-budget Tollywood movies.

It looks like Netflix is concentrating more on Kollywood’s most hyped biggies than Tollywood movies, as all the Kollywood movies so far Netflix has bagged that are going to be released next year have huge expectations among the audiences and also potential blockbusters, says the audiences on social media.
