Streaming platforms have a habit of renewing the shows for another season, irrespective of the response that it has received from critics and audiences. Meanwhile, a new show that premiered some time ago is confirmed to follow the same path.
Ananya Panday’s Call Me Bae received a mixed response after its arrival on Amazon Prime Video. Despite that, it has managed to grab a spot among the top 10 trending shows in several countries. Considering this, the makers decided to bring a new season.

The news was revealed by the head of Amazon Originals, Nikhil Madhok. Furthermore, producer Karan Johar said in a statement that Season 1 was a “game-changer” for them and the entire team is excited to “delve deeper into the characters and their stories.”
Now the question that arises after this announcement is why the show has been renewed. Did we need a second season? Ananya Panday is yet to establish herself as a flawless actress. If we ignore Pati, Patni aur Woh, and Dreamgirl 2, her films have hardly worked at the box office.

Her debut film Student of the Year was already criticized for its overall content and we need to accept that whatever attention Ananya has received until now is because of the headlines she created after being cast in different projects.
