Thalapathy Vijay’s last film, Leo, performed well in the Hindi market, earning around ₹32 crores, despite facing significant challenges.
The movie’s release was hindered by a boycott from major national multiplex chains like PVRInox, Cinepolis, and Miraj due to a dispute over the 8-week window for its OTT release.

This limited the film’s reach, and it’s believed that a broader release could have boosted the collections by at least 30%.
Leo managed to become Vijay’s highest-grossing film in Hindi without any major promotions from the makers. The movie’s success can be largely attributed to the genuine interest on the ground level and Vijay’s star power.

Now, all eyes are on Vijay’s upcoming film, The GOAT, which is set to release this week.
Originally, it was supposed to clash with Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency on September 6th. However, Emergency has been postponed due to issues with the censor board and recent threats against Kangana, giving The GOAT a solo release in the Hindi market.

This solo release presents a golden opportunity for Vijay.
Although The GOAT doesn’t have the same level of hype as Leo, if the word of mouth is positive, the film could perform well at the Hindi box office.
With no direct competition, Vijay has a chance to deliver an even bigger success than his previous film, Leo. Now it all depends on how good or bad the film is.
