Google has just released the Android 15 Beta 2 update for Pixel smartphones. However, other Android manufacturers are yet to release Android 15 Beta updates for their smartphones. But, now OnePlus has jumped the gun and released its first Android 15 update for the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus Open smartphones.
This Android 15 Beta 1 update is based on Oxygen OS and is intended for developers and advanced smartphone users. But, if you are passionate about trying this new Android version alongside new features, then you can also download the Android 15 Beta update on your flagship OnePlus phone.
In its latest community post, OnePlus has listed some known issues on the OnePlus 12 with this update related to Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, camera, and Smart Lock Function. Moreover, OnePlus has also stated that select third-party applications are prone to compatibility issues and abnormal crashes.
OnePlus has asserted that OnePlus Open users might also receive the same issues after installing the Android 15 Beta 1 update. Other common issues include malfunctioning of the split-screen functionality on the main screen. This update might also trigger the smart select and cutout function when long-pressing the main body of a picture in Photos. There are also minor glitches in the System Cloner app.
To install the Android 15 Beta update on these two smartphones, users are instructed to download the ROM upgrade zip package from the OnePlus community site. Then, OnePlus provided a series of steps to install this update. However, do note that this upgrade will erase all the data on the phone, so take a backup before installation.
