Olivia Nuzzi accuses ex-fiancé of blackmail over 'affair with RFK Jr', wins no-contact order

Prominent author for New York magazine Olivia Nuzzi was granted a no-contact order against her former fiancé, Ryan Lizza, a prominent political journalist with Politico, after she accused him of harassment and blackmail following their breakup.
The court ruling followed Nuzzi’s claims that Lizza had threatened to release personal information to damage her reputation, CNN reported.
According to Nuzzi, the threats began in mid-August, when Lizza allegedly warned that he would make personal details about her public in an attempt to ruin her career. Nuzzi’s claims were made in a court filing and presented before a judge in the DC Superior Court this week. Lizza, who has been one of Politico’s top reporters, denied the accusations.
The case gained further complexity due to Nuzzi’s ‘undisclosed relationship with Robert F Kennedy Jr’, a former independent presidential candidate.
In a statement to CNN, Nuzzi expressed regret for not disclosing her personal relationship with a campaign subject, acknowledging that her professional boundaries had been compromised.
New York magazine placed Nuzzi on leave while conducting a third-party review of her actions after she disclosed her personal involvement with a subject she had been reporting on during the 2024 presidential campaign.
Though the magazine did not confirm the identity of the person, a source with knowledge of the situation told CNN that the subject in question was Kennedy. Nuzzi had previously written a profile of Kennedy and covered his campaign activities, including a hiking trip with him in November last year.
Kennedy, who has been married to actor Cheryl Hines since 2014, recently endorsed Donald Trump after his own presidential run.
