Olivia Dunne has opened up on her blossoming romance with Major League Baseball star Paul Skenes, revealing that they work so well because of how different they are.
The couple, who recently enjoyed a romantic getaway to Jupiter, Florida, went public with their relationship in August 2023.
And while Dunne’s star has continued to rise through her social media activity on top of gymnastics success at LSU, where she is returning for a fifth and final year in 2024, Skenes has underlined his credentials as one baseball’s finest pitchers.
‘I feel like his work ethic is something I’ve never seen before. It’s very cool to hear his advice for me, and I feel like that made me a better athlete last year,’ Dunne said to People.
‘I think that we play off of one another and make each other better. Paul definitely holds me accountable, which I really appreciate. Sometimes it’s hard to find it within yourself to do things.’

Dunne accepted that she is far more comfortable in the spotlight than boyfriend Skenes
Dunne added that she is more comfortable in the spotlight than Skenes, but he is growing more confident around the cameras.
‘I love doing social media and I enjoy being in the spotlight. He doesn’t like social media at all. We’re just very opposite and I feel like it really work.
‘He’s now in the spotlight, which I’ve had for quite some time now, and hopefully I’m able to help him in ways like that.’
Dunne has eight million TikTok followers and 5.3million on Instagram and recently starred in an energy drink commercial with Travis Kelce.
Skenes, meanwhile, is one of the leading contenders to win MLB’s rookie of the year.
He finished the season pitching a 1.99 ERA with a franchise rookie record of 167 strikeouts, throwing pitches that regularly went over the 100mph mark.

His Pittsburgh Pirates team failed to make the playoffs, however, ending the 2024 campaign last on the National League Central with a 76-86 record.
‘We’re going to be better next year,’ Skenes said back in September. ‘We’re going to win a lot more games next year. So [fans should] just keep coming. It means a lot to us. We’re going to give it back to them.
‘I didn’t put a ton of expectations on the year other than to really learn and then go out there and execute to the best of my ability and whatever happens, happens.’
