A recent video of an Indian techie working in New York has sparked debate online.
In the video, the woman, working in supply chain management at a pharmaceutical company with a salary of ₹88 Lakhs per annum, was asked whether she would return to India if she was offered the same pay.

The woman’s reply came as a shock to many. In a non-hesitant response, the woman affirmed that she would go back to India if her salary remained the same.
When further questioned if she was satisfied with her salary, the woman said that her salary was ‘good for the basics’, but she would always look for more.

Her reply has left many social media users baffled. One user commented, “Why come here when you want to go back?”
Another user wrote, “This is the problem with 1st generation people living abroad. They are never satisfied with their salary according to their skills and experience.”

While they can earn in big numbers in countries like the US, most of their salary goes into managing the much higher cost of living.
