HMD Global has introduced a new budget smartphone, the Nokia C12, which runs on the latest Android 12 Go Edition. The device is a follow-up to the Nokia C10, which was released in early 2021. The C12 boasts a 6.3-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution and measures 160.6 x 74.3 x 8.75mm and weighs 177.4g, making it smaller than most phones in the C-series.
Powering the device is the Unisoc SC9863A1 chipset, which has eight Cortex-A55 cores and a PowerVR IMG 8322 GPU. The phone comes with 2GB of RAM, but there is an option to enable an additional 2GB of virtual RAM. It also has 64GB of storage, but no microSD expansion slot.
The Nokia C12 features two cameras, one 8MP on the back and one 5MP on the front, with night and portrait modes. It also has 4G connectivity, Wi-Fi b/g/n, and Bluetooth 5.2. It has a 3,000mAh battery and charges at a low 5W. The device is built to last with a polycarbonate body and toughened glass on the front, and is rated IP52 for dust and water resistance. The company has also committed to providing quarterly security updates for 2 years.
The Nokia C12 is priced at €120 and will be available in Germany and Austria initially, before expanding to other markets.
