Budameru Breaches were completely closed. Officials of the Water Resources Department, who have already closed two breaches, recently closed the third breach as well on Saturday.
Indian Army also helped the operation in closing the complicated third breach.

This stopped the flow of flood to the lower areas. This will minimize the risk of flood water to Vijayawada.
Water Resources Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu camped at Budameru for a few days and supervised the works until completion.

It is interesting to note that former Minister Devineni Uma also actively participated.
Uma was also at the work site all these days and was supervising the work day and night.

He was the former Minister of the Water Resources Portfolio between 2014 and 2019 and has ample knowledge about these things.
Uma is a close confidante of Chandrababu Naidu but was refused a ticket from Mylavaram in the 2024 election.
His rival Vasantha Krishna Prasad joined TDP from YSR Congress and got the Mylavaram ticket. He cooperated with Krishna Prasad and worked for his victory.
After winning, Naidu has yet to accommodate him in any position. Ideally, leaders would stay away from work and rest at home in such situations.
But Uma was actively working despite having no position.
