YS Jagan Mohan Reddy made a mockery of seat distribution during the last elections. He changed candidates arbitrarily without any reason or rationale.
For instance, Anil Kumar Yadav was dropped from Nellore and was fielded in the Narasaraopeta Parliament.

There are many such decisions. The leaders did not like to move but had no option because they wanted tickets and believed Jagan would come back to power.
Even if lost, they thought they would have some arrangement once Jagan is re-elected.

But the result is a shocking eleven seats for the party.
Now many leaders are not interested in being as incharges. They lost interest completely and today YSR Congress is without an incharge in more than 50 seats.

Some of the leaders were ready only if they were given their original seats but Jagan do not want to go back as it would hurt his ego. That will also mean he is admitting the blunders he committed in the last elections.
As a result, the cadre in many seats is completely directionless and the party became inactive in those constituencies.
On one side, TDP is finishing its membership drive. The party had finished One Crore memberships and also recently, inked an MOU for Five Lakh Insurance cover for all those enrolled.
Due to the lack of interest in the party leaders, Jagan could not even start the membership drive for the YSR Congress.
