Andhra Pradesh Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Minister Ponguru Narayana on Saturday launched the revamped website for Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA) for self-help group women, and ‘Nivasam’ app and a dashboard for monitoring the operation and maintenance of shelter for urban homeless people.
Participating in a workshop to discuss the Women’s Business Development Action Plan for the 2025-26 financial year, in Vijayawada on Saturday, Mr. Narayana reviewed the progress of the activities undertaken by the MEPMA in the past three months.
He handed over cheques to the beneficiaries of PM SVANidhi (PM Street Vendors Atma Nirbhar Nidhi) and certificates of appreciation to the top-performing SC entrepreneurs in each district.
MoU signed
Later, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the MEPMA and the Labour Department to link unorganised sector workers with the e-Shram scheme, ensuring financial security for them.
Launching the women entrepreneurship action plan, MEPMA Mission Director N. Tej Bharat listed out the upcoming initiatives for the 2025-26 fiscal year, which include promoting SHG products through e-commerce platforms, partnering with Amazon to promote SHG products under Amazon Saheli, developing 30,000 women entrepreneurs across urban areas in the State and providing loans to 1 lakh beneficiaries under PM SVANidhi, among others.

Mr. Tej Bharat said ₹8,000 crore would be disbursed as loans to 80,000 SHGs through bank linkage for urban poor families and ₹5 crore would be disbursed to 100 beneficiaries under the Group Self-Employment Scheme, ₹80 crore to 8,000 beneficiaries under the Individual Self-Employment Scheme, and ₹103 crore under the Stree Nidhi Scheme.
Principal Secretary S. Suresh Kumar appreciated the work done by the MEPMA and appealed to them to work towards achieving zero poverty and One Family One Entrepreneur goals.
Labour Department Secretary M.V. Sheshagiri Babu and other officials were present.
