Fox play-by-play commentator Joe Davis is getting blasted for his ‘biased’ call during the Washington Commanders‘ thrilling 36-33 win over the Philadelphia Eagles at home on Sunday.
Davis called the game alongside Greg Olsen and were treated to a Game of the Year candidate at Northwest Stadium. With six seconds left, Jayden Daniels threw the game-winning touchdown to Jamison Crowder – sealing the win for Washington.
The pulse-raising game snapped Philadelphia’s impressive 10-game win streak and clinched the Commanders’ first season with double-digit wins (10-5) since 2012.
However, fans’ foreheads wrinkled moments after the winning touchdown when Davis screamed ‘Preposterous,’ in reaction.
As a result, fans called foul on Davis’ lopsided performance in the booth. Many thought that ‘preposterous’ was the wrong adjective since Eagles backup quarterback Kenny Picket played most of the game, covering for Jalen Hurts, who suffered a concussion.
‘The worst part about watching today’s loss was having to listen to the commentators Greg Olsen and Joe Davis for 3 straight hours,’ one fan wrote.

‘Joe Davis is great, but he keeps absolutely ignoring that Jalen Hurts hasn’t played since the first quarter. This isn’t this ‘preposterous’ comeback he thinks it is. Things change when the star QB is out, what a shocker!’ said another.
‘I was just disgusted by this. Birds lost its happens. But his commentary was so bad. Just trash,’ a third chimed in.
‘He was horrible today….Never once considered how the game would have been different if Hurts didn’t get hurt….,’ commented a fourth.
‘It’s preposterous!’ Somebody wake up Joe Davis,’ said another.
The 12-3 Eagles lead the NFC East and have clinched the second seed in the conference with two games remaining against the Cowboys and the Giants.
Meanwhile, the commanders are en route to making their first playoff appearance since losing to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2020 wild-card round.
