    Petrol coming, but

Jumping straight to the point, we recently interviewed Shailesh Chandra, MD, Tata Motors. In this interview, we asked about the possibility of a petrol engine coming on the Harrier & Safari. To this question, Shailesh Chandra stated that Tata Motors is working on bringing the 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine on the Harrier and Safari. However, it will not come with the facelifted models as this petrol engine will debut with the Curvv, coming next year. We can expect petrol to grace the Harrier and Safari lineup later on in their life cycles. In this interview, we also got insights into the possibility of Harrier 4×4, you can check out the detailed story here

    Facelifted models

We know a lot of details about the Harrier and Safari facelift. First of all, they are going to get a major design refresh. This includes a new grille, LED headlamps, new front bumpers, a new set of alloy wheels and a connected tail lamp design. The new design for both these SUVs is very similar to the Harrier EV unveiled at the Auto Expo.

Like the exterior, the interior is also expected to get a major design refresh. The dashboard gets a new design with a floating infotainment system and a new 4-spoke steering wheel with a backlit Tata logo. Other new features could include a rotary-styled drive mode selector, touch-sensitive HVAC controls and more connected car features. Specs-wise, as mentioned above, it will only come with the 2.0-litre diesel engine capable of producing 168bhp and 250Nm of torque. It will continue with the 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox.
