The trailer of the Netflix film CTRL was released a few days ago and it has led to a debate among social media users. The reason is that it is being claimed to be similar to Kate Winslet’s film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
While the claims are going viral on all platforms, director Vikramaditya Motwane admitted in an interview that he was expecting the comparison to happen, adding that he won’t give importance to any kind of criticism emerging out of the same.

Notably, Vikramaditya mentioned that a few elements of the film are inspired by the science fiction film, Her, which came out back in 2018. Apart from this, he had a few appreciating words for the latter.
Vikramaditya stated that he loved everything about her, including the writing and direction. He called it a masterpiece, adding that CTRL is not copied from the same. He instead described his film’s plot as something related to the doomsday scenario.

The trailer of the new film featured Ananya Panday creating an account on a platform known as CTRL. The AI assistant helps in controlling life and happiness and Ananya’s character seeks the same, telling the platform to remove her ex-boyfriend. However, things change when she discovers that the guy is missing.
CTRL is scheduled to arrive on October 4, 2024, and it also includes Vihaan Samat playing an important role.
