Netflix’s Another Dud Vijay 69: Big Names, Flop Content

Anupam Kher’s Vijay 69 is now available on Netflix. Ever since the trailer came out, the film began trending since the glimpses hinted that a different film with a unique subject is on the way.

The reviews for the film are now going viral on social media and the reactions are mixed. While a portion of the public has appreciated the film for its concept, a few others are calling it “boring.”

One of them has stated that the characters appear cartoonish on screen. There has been additional criticism towards Chunky Pandey’s appearance in the film.

People have even used the word “mediocre” to describe the film and others called it heartwarming, despite having a predictable plot.

While the presence of emotions is an important part of such films, Vijay 69 has been criticized for adding a lot of melodrama to the screenplay.

A user wrote on social media that a few scenes will only make people laugh and except for the climax, the film does not impress much.

The above-mentioned reactions have proved that YRF Entertainment missed a big opportunity.

Despite not following the common process of adding abuses and violence to an OTT project, it seems like the director failed to bring something that would engage the audience.

The film is produced by Maneesh Sharma, who has a good track record with YRF over the years. Even if his last film Tiger 3 received mixed reviews, viewers expected Maneesh to bounce back with Vijay 69.

Moreover, the basic storyline is all about an underdog facing all the odds to become a winner. It is a concept that we have seen various times in the past and YRF now needs to work on bringing better and new stories.
