Neeraj Chopra Paris Olympics 2024

Neeraj Chopra secured a silver medal in the men’s javelin final at the Paris Olympics with a best throw of 89.45m. Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem made history by winning the gold with an Olympic record of 92.97m on August 8, 2024.

Neeraj, who had hoped to become the first Indian to win two Olympic golds in individual sports, faced tough competition. Despite a strong performance, he was outmatched by Nadeem’s exceptional throw, which surprised the athletics world.

Some people on social media are less upset about Neeraj missing out on the gold and more concerned that a Pakistani athlete won it. A few of them are even hoping that Arshad Nadeem gets tested positive for doping, leading to his disqualification, which would then result in India’s Neeraj Chopra being awarded the gold medal.

A segment of netizens even started blaming Modi Ji for Neeraj’s defeat, claiming that under Modi 3.0, even Pakistan is surpassing India.

Arshad Nadeem’s journey to gold is nothing short of inspiring. Coming from a humble background in Pakistan, he faced numerous challenges, including a lack of proper equipment and support.

He trained himself, using homemade javelins and practicing in open parks, without a coach. Despite these obstacles, Nadeem remained determined.

This victory marks Pakistan’s first Olympic medal in 32 years. Pakistan’s last Olympic medal was in Hockey at the 1992 Games in Barcelona.

For India, Neeraj Chopra continues to be a sports icon at just 26 years old. His achievement of winning both gold and silver in consecutive Olympics is remarkable.

Although Neeraj seemed to struggle after Nadeem’s record-breaking throw, he gave his best effort, and there’s no reason to criticize him.

This result is a reversal of last year’s World Championships, where Neeraj won gold and Nadeem took silver.

Neeraj Chopra made history as the first Indian to win an Olympic gold in track and field at the Tokyo Olympics and is now one of the few Indians to have multiple individual Olympic medals.

However, with this silver, India may finish the 2024 Paris Olympics without a gold medal, which is the biggest heartbreaker.
