National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams and powerboats have arrived in Vijayawada. Yesterday, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu requested the central government to deploy NDRF teams and powerboats for rescue operations in Andhra Pradesh.

The city of Vijayawada has been experiencing heavy rainfall over the past three days. The city hasn’t experienced rainfall of this intensity in the last 30 years.

Since yesterday, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has been on the ground, personally monitoring rescue operations in every area affected by the rains and reviewing the overall situation across the state.

A team of about 100 NDRF members from Ludhiana arrived at Gannavaram Airport on an army flight. Meanwhile, powerboats were transported to Vijayawada by army helicopters.

Officials have already started distributing food to flood victims in Singh Nagar using these powerboats. They are also rescuing people whose homes are submerged.

The Chief Minister has instructed officials to provide clothes to those relocating to relief camps. The government is supplying milk packets, food, and water bottles to flood victims.

Food is being sourced from private hotels, Vijayawada Durga Temple, and the Akshayapatra Foundation.

This morning, CM Naidu visited the flood-affected areas once again. He later held a review meeting with ministers and government officials.

He directed officials to provide food three times a day to flood victims and to relocate pregnant women and children to relief camps. He also instructed them to map the locations where powerboats were being deployed. Chandrababu Naidu urged flood victims not to panic, assuring them that the government would take care of their needs.
