The government of Andhra Pradesh restarted the Anna Canteens across the state yesterday on the occasion of Independence Day.
The canteens began functioning in a full-fledged manner today. Earlier this morning, Minister Nara Lokesh inaugurated an Anna Canteen in Tadepalli.

Later, he stood in line as an ordinary citizen with others and had his breakfast. He shared a meal with the local people and engaged in a heartfelt interaction with them.
The people present and the staff of the Anna Canteen were amazed by Lokesh’s humility and how he treated them.

Meanwhile, Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna launched a canteen in his constituency and served food to the people with his own hands.
As part of the first phase, 100 Anna Canteens were opened across various areas in Andhra Pradesh. Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the canteen yesterday in Gudivada.

Anna Canteens were introduced during TDP’s rule from 2014 to 2019. However, YCP halted this initiative after coming to power in 2019.
TDP promised to restart the canteens if they came into power this year. As promised, the government restarted the canteens within two months of assuming office.
