The Union Government of India has released the first list of Padma Award winners ahead of Republic Day on January 26th. Among the prominent Telugu personalities, Nandamuri Balakrishna has been honored with the Padma Bhushan for his contributions in the arts category.
Several other individuals from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have made it to the Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri lists.
