It’s been more than three years since Nagarjuna last appeared as a solo hero on the big screen. His last solo film was The Ghost in 2022. Nagarjuna has recently taken up special roles in films like Coolie and Kubera.
While there were reports about him collaborating with Tamil director Naveen, the project hasn’t materialized yet. Similarly, there’s no update on his proposed film with Mohan Raja.

Now, there’s buzz that Puri Jagannadh is trying to team up with Nagarjuna for a new film. After facing back-to-back disasters with Liger and Double iSmart, Puri has reportedly been working on multiple scripts.
He recently pitched a story to Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor, but it looks like Ranbir rejected it considering Puri’s track record over the last 10 years.

Meanwhile, Nagarjuna’s name has surfaced as a potential lead for one of Puri’s upcoming projects. However, it’s uncertain if Nagarjuna would agree to the collaboration as he needs a successful director right now to stage a solid comeback.
After the blockbuster success of Venkatesh’s Sankranthiki Vastunnam, there is tremendous pressure on Nag to deliver a big hit among senior heroes.

However, some fans recall that Puri gave interesting characters to Nagarjuna in films like Sivamani and Super. He brought out Nagarjuna’s machismo perfectly on the big screen.
With Puri currently working with a fresh writing team, fans are hoping Nagarjuna will take the risk and join hands with him once again. However, there are hardcore Nagarjuna fans who want him to stay away from Puri as, given his recent failures, a successful comeback seems quite tough for the director.
Interestingly, there were also rumors that Puri is trying to collaborate with Akhil Akkineni as well. Even the mere speculations created panic among fans.
