A 48-year-old NRI woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a hotel room in Vizag city. Though the incident took place on March 6, it only came to light on March 8.
While the police have not officially revealed her identity, sources identified the deceased as K Roja, a software professional from the US and a native of Vizag.

The case took a turn when it was revealed that a man named P Sridhar, also an NRI doctor from the US, had booked the hotel room.
Roja was seen entering his room, but hours later, Sridhar approached the reception claiming the door was locked and needed to be opened.

When the staff unlocked the room, they found Roja dead, hanging in the washroom. Sridhar reportedly broke down, saying she had become unconscious. Both had returned to Vizag in recent weeks, adding intrigue to the case.
The police have registered a case under Section 194 of the BNSS, categorizing it as a suspicious death due to hanging.

Officials have stated that while preliminary findings suggest suicide, they are investigating any possible abetment. The exact cause of death is yet to be confirmed.
