Back in 2023, we witnessed two gangster drama shows dominating the world of OTT platforms. The first was Bambai Meri Jaan in Amazon Prime Video, followed by Sultan of Delhi in Disney+ Hotstar. Both of them were produced by some well-known faces who have a record of creating projects that aim to only entertain the audience.
After a long break, another platform, Zee5, is bringing a series on a similar theme. Titled Murshid, the show will arrive on August 30, 2024, and the producers have revealed a new trailer, which has grabbed a lot of attention on social media.

With Mumbai being a common background for such stories, Murshid will also focus on a mafia don who returns to rule the city for another time after 20 years. The latest trailer also starts by mentioning the same and we are introduced to the lead character, Murshid Pathaan, played by Kay Kay Menon.
The voiceover says that there was a time when residents of Mumbai were scared to hear Pathaan’s name. There is also a rival named Farid, portrayed by Zakir Hussain. Both sides are seemingly battling each other for a long time and we witness multiple people being shot dead.

To bring control over everything, Murshid’s son, a police officer, also enters the scene and he is heard saying that the department is well aware of who he was born to. An anonymous person, seemingly his senior, appears telling him that his family connection would matter now, considering that Pathaan has taken the law into his hands.
There is a possibility that the father-son duo would possibly have a confrontation with the police department trying to stop Pathaan from committing any crime. As we have seen in many shows and films over the years, family members and friends would also lose their lives.

The show is expected to follow a routine format without bringing anything new. So, this can prove to be a success among those who are searching for some masala entertainment without caring much about the story. Who would survive in the end? The audience would get an answer on the day of the premiere.
