Mumbai Girl Student murder: The victim was a native of Akola district and was studying at a college in Bandra. She was also working on a part time basis in a company.
Mumbai: In a disturbing development reported from Maharashtra capital Mumbai, a 21-year-old girl student was found dead at her hostel in Marine Drive on Tuesday evening.
The girl was staying alone in her room on the fourth floor of the hostel.
The police forced open the door and found the girl’s body naked with injury marks on her neck and private parts.
It is alleged that the girl was raped before she was murdered. Police have sent the body for postmortem. Police are waiting for the autopsy report.
Earlier, it was said that a suspect in the case was absconding, but he was also found dead. It is said the suspect was working as a security guard at the hostel.
The accused committed suicide by jumping before the train near Charni Road. The body of the suspect was found lying on the railway tracks.
Meanwhile, a case of rape and murder has been registered against the deceased accused Omprakash Kanojia at Marine Drive police station. It is alleged that the accused raped and killed the victim.
The police registered a case under sections 302 and 376 of IPC.
