After having won the T20 world cup this year, the expectation is on team India to wi the Champions Trophy that is scheduled to be held early next year. Meanwhile, the two month period that comes prior to this trophy is going to be extremely important for the men in blue.

The first T20 against New Zealand will be played on the 8th of November this year and this is going to be a highly important series for team India. Well, there is the T20 series against Bangladesh that will precede this series but there is not much emphasis on this series though.
After the New Zealand series, there are the T20 series against South Africa and Australia that will be happening between November and December.

These final two months of 2024 are of quintessential importance for the men in blue if they are to start the champions trophy as the firm favorites. There is no place for slip ups here.
The issue here is that the appointment of Gautam Gambhir as the head coach has started off on a rather poor note for the men in blue. The ODI series loss against Sri Lanka rang the alarm bells loud and clear.

Gambhir must be raring to make a comeback with these upcoming series. If there are slip ups here, doubts will be raised about his capability as the head coach of India.
