CID has been a nostalgia ride for most TV viewers as it was broadcast for over two decades on Sony Entertainment Television. Being one of the longest-running TV shows in India, it has gained a huge fan following over the years.
While CID ended in 2018, fans still used several meme references from the show to maintain its hype on the internet. With so much love and recognition from the fans, the makers decided to give the show a re-run.

The second season of the show was released adding more to the nostalgic factor it has among the viewers. With all the hype and excitement, it was expected to be another huge television draw but things haven’t been the same for the show’s newest season.
CID Season 2 opened to low ratings with a television rating of 0.8 grabbing the 28th position among top Indian shows. While viewers are not fond of watching the cult classic in its second season, shows with poor storylines are outperforming.

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma has been facing a lot of trolls and criticism for its lack of stories and poor performances. However, the show is ranked 3rd among top TV shows with an immaculate rating of 2.3.
As it is sad to see CID Season 2 draw minimal ratings, it is disappointing to see shows like Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma gain high ratings with poor plots and generic performances.
