Koratala Siva is one of the highly-rated filmmakers in Telugu cinema, but he suffered a monstrous set back with Acharya. This means that his immediate next film Devara has a lot riding on it.
After the Acharya debacle, doubts are raised about Koratala Siva, regardless of the fact that he delivered four hits prior to that.

Nevertheless, the onus is on Koratala to make a scorching comeback with the NTR starrer which is billed to be a slick actioner.
The situation now is such that a star director is able to set up a new project only if he is in elite form. This is due to the fact that all the top six heroes, barring Pawan Kalyan are doing pan-Indian films.

At this point in time, all of the elite league stars are looking for projects with winning directors who can deliver grade-A pan-Indian films.
Incidentally, Koratala is also entering the pan-India fray with Devara which promises to be a mass actioner. After the Acharya debacle, it is essential that he comes back with a winning pan Indian film in the form of Devara if he is to regain the trust of the pan Indian stars.

Only if Devara clicks big time can Koratala get himself occupied with the second part. Or else, he has no prospect of setting up a pan Indian biggie with a mainstream star.
There is Allu Arjun who is without a confirmed film after Pushpa 2 and if Devara clicks, perhaps Koratala can slot right in and take up Bunny’s next.
So in many ways, Devara is more important for Koratala as much as it is for NTR. Can the able director put the Acharya talk to rest by shutting the mouths by delivering a winning Devara? We will know in two weeks time.
