Xiaomi 14 series, the company’s highly-anticipated successor to the Xiaomi 13 series phones, is reportedly gearing up for a launch soon. And this time around, the phone may debut with the next-gen Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The processor is tipped to launch in October 2023. Consequently, the phone may debut in November. Besides the new chipset, it may debut with MIUI 15 operating system, the successor to MIUI 14.
Citing Digital Chat Station, cnBeta reported that the Snapdragon Summit 2023 will likely go official in October. Plus, the Chinese phone maker is tipped to host a press conference for the release of MIUI 15 based on Android 14, which could first debut in the Xiaomi 14 series.
This timeline seems apt as Apple is gearing up to launch the upcoming iPhones, and no company would wish to get their smartphones washed away in the hype next month. The California-based tech giant may unveil four smartphones: iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max in September.
Flipping back to Xiaomi 14, according to reports, the phone may debut with a 6.7-inch screen 1.5K panel, 50MP primary + 50MP telephoto and an ultra-wide lens, 4800mAh battery with 90W wired and 50W wireless charging support. The 14 Pro may have a 5000mAh battery with 120W charging support.
Coming to the latest Xiaomi 13 Pro 5G, the smartphone starts from Rs 79,999 in India. It has a 6.73-inch AMOLED 10-bit screen. Under the hood, it sports a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. It runs on Xiaomi’s latest MIUI 14 based on Android 13. The 13 Pro has a 4820mAh that supports 120W wired and 50W wireless charging. As for the optics, the flagship sports a 50MP main, 50MP ultrawide and 50MP telephoto lens on the back and a 32MP selfie camera.
