Mission Impossible The Final Reckoning box office collection day 8: After earning the bulk of its collections over the opening weekend, with Rs 16.5 crore and Rs 17 crore on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, Tom Cruise’s actioner Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning witnessed a major jump from Friday’s Rs 3.9 crore collection as it collected Rs 7 crore (estimate as per trade tracker Sacnilk) on day 8, with all the languages combined, including, English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The total net collection in India now stands at Rs 65.30 crore.
In India, the latest installment of the Mission: Impossible franchise recorded an occupancy of 25.08% for morning shows, 47.99% in the afternoon, 57.74% in the evening, and 54.93% for night shows in English-language screenings. The Hollywood release faced competition from Final Destination: Bloodlines, and several Bollywood movies, including, Rajkummar Rao’s Bhool Chuk Maaf and Suniel Shetty starrer Kesari Veer.
Directed by Christopher McQuarrie and co-written with Erik Jendresen, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is Tom Cruise’s last movie as the iconic spy Ethan Hunt, also marking the final installment of the MI series. The film hit Indian theatres on May 17 and also features Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Henry Czerny, and Angela Bassett.
Before the film’s release, Tom Cruise spoke in Hindi during a promotional video for his Indian fans. “Main aap sab se bahut pyaar karta hoon. Mujpe bharosa karo, ek akhri baar (I love you all a lot. Trust me one last time). I feel so much love for India. I have to say the whole experience has been etched in my memory. Every single moment. From the moment I landed, going to the Taj Mahal, and spending time in Mumbai, I remember each moment quite vividly,” he said.
