Matthew McConaughey is best known as a world-famous actor, but he’s apparently a decent soccer player as well.

The screen star, 54, was filming a video with content creator Street Panna at Austin FC‘s Q2 Stadium when he was tasked with hitting a target tucked away in the upper right hand corner of the goal.

Incredibly, a barefoot McConaughey fired the ball into the target on just his second try – and the shot hugely impressed fans online.

‘Sign him up,’ one said on X, in response to Austin FC posting a video of the moment.

‘Can he play as a 10??! Asking for a friend. Thx,’ a second added.

‘For a team that’s going to be representing the city of Austin, I need to be there as someone who knows Austin really well, that the two are mirror images of each other,’ he previously told reporters.

‘The team, the product we put on the pitch and the fan experience in that stadium. My goal, as minister of culture, is trying to align [the two]. When you take a snapshot above Q2 Stadium on any given night that we play, you should be able to see in the crowd the diversity, creative colors and vibrancy of Austin, Texas.’

He is also an investor in the club, and has been a fixture at Texas Longhorns football games as well.
