Mathematicians are the real programmers as the world of programming is ruled by mathematical ideas, said Suriya Priya Asaithambi, National University of Singapore- ISS, Singapore, while inaugurating an international conference on “Mathematics and its Applications on Technology” at Srinivasa Ramanujan Centre, SASTRA, Deemed to be University, on March 28, 2024.
Suriya Priya spoke on the enormous scope for mathematicians in the age of AI and insisted upon the need for gaining in depth knowledge in Mathematics.
V. Ramaswamy, Dean, SRC, termed Mathematics as the queen of sciences as the purest form of science as the music stays the purest form of art. He encouraged and motivated the student participants to develop research attitude to ensure their contributions to the development of technology.
D. Narasimhan, chief convenor of the conference highlighted the initiatives of SASTRA Deemed to be University to promote quality in researches in the field of mathematics in general and of Ramanujan’s Number Theory in particular. He appealed to the student participants to use this platform for fruitful interactions with fellow research scholars and the delegates.
Liu Chang, Chengdu University, China, Sakkaravarthi Ramanathan, Vanier College, Montreal, Canada. Gobithaasan Rudrasamy, Universiti Sains, Malaysia, delivered invited talks on various topics of high research interest in the fields of mathematics and technology, according to a university release.
