The S&P BSE Sensex was down over 550 points at 60,100 levels after hitting an intra-day high of 60,877. The Nifty50 index, meanwhile, was seen testing the 17,900 level.
Bajaj Finance was the top laggard on the Sensex index, down over 8 per cent, after the consumer finance reported that assets under management (AUM) grew by 27 per cent year-on-year (YoY), lower than market expectations, to Rs 2.30 trillion as of December 31, 2022. READ MORE
In the broader markets, the BSE MidCap and SmallCap indices were wee bit in green.

Among sectors, the Nifty FMCG index gained 1.4 per cent, while the Nifty Financial Services index dipped 0.8 per cent.Â
