Marco Hindi Box Office: Fake Perception Created?

Marco Hindi Box Office: Fake Perception Created?

The Malayalam dubbed film Marco has faced a decline in its Hindi version after a big jump in its second week. The film started with a limited release, only managing ₹28 lakh in its first week. However, it saw a huge jump in its second week.

Unfortunately, despite a wider release in week three, it couldn’t capitalize on big number of screens and shows and failed to maintain momentum, largely due to limited appeal for mass audiences and comparisons to a South Korean film.

The film saw low occupancy in week three, and as expected, the collections started to decline in week four. While the media gave the film a boost, claiming it to be a hit, the reality is far different.

The collections of Marco Hindi till now are 11 crores net approximately.

The ongoing narrative that small films fail due to limited releases is misleading. A film’s success doesn’t depend on the number of screens but on its content. Even films with a limited release can turn into blockbusters if they connect with the audience.

However, Marco released with zero expectations and no major platform to build upon, yet it’s expected to collect around ₹15 crore net, which is a decent achievement, given its poor start.

While it may not have achieved widespread success, Marco did perform better in its limited release than many expected, and this should be acknowledged despite its shortcomings in a broader market.
