Manchester United are expected to make an early bid for Mason Mount as Chelsea brace themselves for a fight to keep the England midfielder.
Mount, 24, is out of contract at the end of next season and significant talks over an extension at Chelsea have not occurred since February.
The west London club are understood to be anticipating offers arriving for Mount soon after the Premier League season concludes this Sunday. The summer window will open for business on June 14 and close on September 1.
United are one of about four clubs that are believed to be serious about making a move for Mount, who is hoping to play a part in Chelsea’s last two Premier League games — against Manchester United and Newcastle
