Manchester United supporters think Ruben Amorim may have made a subtle dig at former manager Erik ten Hag with one of his post-match comments on Sunday.
New manager Amorim made it two wins in a row as his side thrashed Everton 4-0 at old Trafford in the Premier League.
Amad Diallo started the game and put on a brilliant display, contributing two assists in a performance full of energy.
And speaking after the game, Amorim was full of praise for the player while making a comment that some considered to be a jab at Ten Hag.
He said: ‘small in size, but big in talent. He has done a good job, but he still has to improve.
‘He is in great shape. Ruud van Nistelrooy helped him a lot when he was manager and now he helps me.’
Van Nistelrooy only took charge of four games following the sacking of Ten Hag and it is interesting that Amorim would make a point of his impact on Diallo.
‘Amorim literally throwing jabs at Ten Hag,’ wrote one fan. ‘This is why Ruben Amorim is the chosen one to make Manchester United great again.
Another wrote: ‘Ten Hag, that subliminal was for you. How can you have a gem of a player like Amad and play the likes of Forson, Antony and Mazaroui in his favoured position?
‘Won you a game vs Liverpool and didn’t even get a minute for the next three games. Horrific man management.
