A man tried to order groceries from Swiggy and received six orders instead.

It takes a momentary glitch to realise that the technology around is far from perfect and we, the end consumers, can really do so much about it. Take ‘X’ (formerly called Twitter) user Praanay Loya for instance. Loya, on Thursday, took to the microblogging website to explain how 6 delivery executives from Swiggy found themselves on his doorstep after he unsuccessfully attempted to place an order for groceries on the delivery service’s app.

Explaining what exactly unfolded, Loya stated that he placed an order on the app and the money was subsequently deducted. The order status, however, stood cancelled. The customer tried to place another order but similar events followed. Loya then tweaked the process and chose the COD or Cash on Delivery method instead of paying for the groceries upfront. After multiple failed attempts, he then hopped on to another delivery service app and eventually placed the order of items he needed delivered at home.

Then, something bizarre happened.

Loya began receiving calls from Swiggy delivery executives who were, in fact, headed towards his home carrying his orders.

Multiply the grocies X 6, Loya ended up with 20 litres of milk, 6kg Dosa batter, 6 packets of Pineapple, he stated in a tweet.

Wondering what he would do with all the excess items he didn’t need, Loya asked the good folks on ‘X’ to give him suggestions and they kindly obliged.

Predicting the future.
