Legendary Malayalam actor Mammootty has now come up with the film Kannur Squad. The movie marks the directorial debut of cinematographer Roby Varghese Raj. The crime thriller is about how an ASI, along with his team, nabbed a criminal amidst challenging scenarios.
The movie opened to positive reviews, and it took a decent start at the box office. The buzz was low before the release, but the strong word of mouth has turned the tide. This Mammootty starrer is going from strength to strength with each passing day. As per a few reports, the film grossed 9 crores from the Kerala state.
Today, the film went on an overdrive and is expected to collect around 5 crores gross from Kerala alone, which speaks volumes about the film’s success. Despite heavy rains in the state, audiences are thronging to the theatres. Megastar Mammootty is displaying his star power at the box office, and fans are highly elated with the film’s performance.
Kishore, Vijayaraghavan, Rony David Raj, Azeez Nedumangad, Shabareesh Varma, and Sarath Sabha played pivotal roles. Mammootty himself produced Kannur Squad under the banner of Mammootty Kampany. Sushin Shyam composed the tunes.
