- Luke Littler faces Ryan Joyce for place in the World Championship quarter-final
- Littler is looking to become first player to hit five nine-darters in a calendar year
Luke Littler is determined to finish 2024 with the flourish of a record-breaking fifth nine-darter, as he returns to the stage of his big breakthrough for one final fling of the calendar year.
Littler takes on Ryan Joyce at Alexandra Palace on Monday looking to secure a spot in the quarter-finals on New Year’s Day.
The 17-year-old has already managed four perfect legs in the last 12 months – at the Bahrain Darts Masters, the Players Championship, the Belgian Darts Open and the Premier League Darts final – but no player has ever managed five in the PDC era.
Littler missed a throw at double 12 for perfection in his previous win over Ryan Meikle at Ally Pally, but wants to complete his whirlwind year with that fifth nine-darter against Joyce.
Luke Littler is hoping to make history in his last 16 clash with Ryan Joyce on Monday
If the 17-year-old can hit a nine-darter he will become the first player in the PDC era to have five perfect legs in a single year
One of his nine-darters came in his Premier League Darts Final win over Luke Humphries in May
