Dulquer Salmaan’s crime drama Lucky Baskhar made its way on OTT platforms on November 28th and since then it has been the talk of the town. After having a disastrous box office run with King of Kotha, Dulquer tried to make a huge comeback with Lucky Baskhar.
He did achieve the target and got exceptionally good reviews for the film alongside a decent box office collection. The film’s box office dominance was seen after its release on OTT as Dulquer’s starrer kept earning at the box office after its digital release.

In its first week digitally, the film generated over 5 million views on Netflix. Securing a second spot on Netflix’s global top 10 trending list, the film continues to dominate digitally. The film is the seventh most viewed South-Indian film on Netflix in 2024 surpassing Meiyazhagan, which was another masterpiece released earlier this year.
Another huge achievement in store for Dulquer is that Lucky Baskhar is the fastest South-Indian film to reach 5 million views on Netflix showcasing its dominance and hype among the fans. That also means the film has the biggest debut for a South-Indian film beating Kalki’s 4.8 million views in its debut week.

Despite being not much promoted around, it continues to attract viewers because of its compelling plot. The performances portrayed by Dulquer, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Surya Srinivas, and Ramki make the crime drama more raw and pure. Its basic yet dramatic plot continues to entertain viewers as it tries to cross huge numbers on OTT after burning the house down at the box office.
